We usually think of cities as the domain of humans, but we are just one of thousands of species that call the urban landscape home. Come and join sculptor Sharon Bladholm, photographer Julie Meridian, and ecologist Liam Heneghan for a lively moderated discussion led by Gavin Van Horn, co-editor of the newly published book City Creatures: Animal Encounters in the Chicago Wilderness. Panelists will reflect upon personal encounters with urban wildlife, why animals are featured in their writing and art, and how art can invite us to see other creatures with fresh perspectives, from our backyards to our bioregion.
